Chelsea make €6.5m payment for transfer – Player set to get a big chunk of the money

Even though Andrey Santos is currently far from Chelsea, enjoying a loan spell at Strasbourg, the Blues are still paying for his signing.

According to Atenção, Vascaínos! on Twitter, Vasco da Gama have just received a new instalment for the midfielder’s move to the London side.

It’s said that Chelsea have now paid €6.5m for the transfer. It’s unclear whether this would be the last payment.

It was in January 2023 that the Blues signed Andrey from Vasco, agreeing to an initial amount of €12.5m for him.

The midfielder was first loaned back to Vasco, and when arriving at Chelsea, he didn’t get a chance to play for the club. That’s why he spent the first part of the current season at Nottingham Forest, and with little opportunities at the Reds, he ended up at Strasbourg.

Vasco were in debt to Andrey over his cut from this transfer, and they had an agreement that he’d get 30% of this new amount paid by Chelsea. According to the story, the Brazilian club would like to use that for other priorities, trying for a new deal with the player to postpone that payment, but that’s not been accepted by him and his entourage.
