Jurgen Klopp has hinted he will make changes to his Liverpool side for Wednesday’s Merseyside derby at Everton.

Mohamed Salah was one of a number of players to drop to the bench for Sunday’s win at Fulham as Liverpool boss Klopp made five changes to his line-up with Diogo Jota, Harvey Elliott, Wataru Endo, Ryan Gravenberch and Jarell Quansah all coming into the starting XI.

The fresh legs paid off for the Reds as, after a couple of tired performances, they ran out comfortable 3-1 victors to keep their Premier League title hopes alive.

Klopp will have to make at least one change against Everton after Jota was confirmed to have picked up an injury against Fulham. But with the trip to Goodison Park Liverpool’s third of four away games in the space of 10 days, the German has hinted that he will again make the most of his squad's strength in depth against their neighbours.

“In this week, because the next one is around the corner, immediately away at West Ham, so we had to do it,” Klopp said of his changed line-up against Fulham. “We will see what we can do now for this game.

“Nothing definite yet, it is pretty early after the game. This afternoon is the only real session we have and then we will make decisions. We will line players up and hopefully we will again have a lot of fresh players on the pitch.

“Everton played on Sunday as well, so same rhythm. Not all the time the same rhythm. Their rhythm was quite frequently interrupted where they had two or three weeks off.

“That’s not great as well. I am sure Sean Dyche didn’t like that as well because it’s strange, in the middle of the season, all of a sudden no game for three weeks. This is an intense week for both teams so we will see.”

Everton's win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday moved them five points above the relegation places. Liverpool's victory at Fulham moved them level on points with leaders Arsenal, who host Chelsea tonight (Tuesday).
