Tottenham Hotspur have been working on bringing in a new lucrative training wear sponsor with their multi-million pound deal with Getir coming to an end.

The grocery delivery app, which was valued at nearly £9.7billion just two years ago, has been the subject of reports this week claiming that Getir are set to announce next week their withdrawal from the three remaining European markets in which it operates - the UK, Germany and the Netherlands, which would put thousands of jobs at risk, including around 1,500 in Britain.

The Istanbul-based company, named after the Turkish word for 'to bring', was founded in 2015 and was one of the booming companies during the pandemic. Last year, Getir announced a sharp cut in the size of its workforce, with roughly 2,500 jobs lost and it has already withdrawn from a number of countries, including Italy and Spain, in an attempt to reduce losses.

Getir signed a multi-million pound deal with Tottenham in 2021 to become the first ever sponsor of the club's training shirts. However, when it comes to how the recent news affects their agreement with Spurs, it's worth noting that it was a three-year contract that was signed between the two companies.

Spurs will continue to wear the company's logo on their training shirts for the coming weeks and until the end of the season before the deal expires this summer. football.london understands that the Premier League club have been working on bringing in a new lucrative sponsor for a training wear deal from next season for the coming years.
