Kevin De Bruyne has claimed that Manchester City have a player who can make “football history” for the next 15 years.

De Bruyne’s claim applies to several players, as City have several stars in their early twenties who could have careers to remember.

Erling Haaland springs straight to mind and in January, Joe Cole claimed that he could go down as one of the greatest strikers of all time in five years.

That is before Haaland even turns 30, which was a bold prediction from the pundit.

Similarly, Julian Alvarez has the potential one of the best strikers of his generation, even though he still has a way to go to become a world-class marksman.

In January, John Stones claimed that the Argentine international was the most “underrated” player in Manchester City’s squad.

Having already won the World Cup, the Copa America and the treble, Alvarez would always have the trophies to back up his talent by the time discussions about his career emerge when he retires.

All the 24-year-old should focus on is growing as a player, whether it be as a number nine, as a second striker or playing as a number 10.

Even this campaign, City’s number 19 has had a fruitful season, with 16 goals and 13 assists to his name in all competitions.

Rico Lewis and Oscar Bobb have also shown that despite not even being 21 yet, they do not look out of place starting for City and perhaps could be in line for a bigger role next season.

To even play in the first-team at Manchester City at their ages is ridiculously impressive, as other talents at the club tend to get sent out on loan eventually, like Callum Doyle or James McAtee.

But that does not seem to be the case with either Lewis or Bobb anytime soon, who could perhaps consider themselves misfortunate if they do not start more games.

It was Phil Foden who Kevin De Bruyne made a massive claim about while speaking to Telefoot, saying, “He is one of the greatest talents I have played with. He can make football history for the next 15 years.”

Recently, Kevin De Bruyne also stated that Phil Foden is no longer viewed as a young player in the team and is instead just an “established superstar.”

Big claim from the Manchester City maestro about Foden

De Bruyne has played with a fair share of elite talents in his career.

Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku and Mohamed Salah come to mind.

With that in mind, the fact that Kevin De Bruyne has tipped Phil Foden to make history in the beautiful game for one and a half decades is a huge claim.

The 32-year-old understands how special of a talent Foden is.

But more than that, De Bruyne perhaps feels confident making such a statement because the Stockport-born midfielder has always backed up his natural talent with splendid performances and at 23, a majority of his career is still left.

Phil Foden would likely be over the moon to hear a legend of the game back him to do so in such a way.
