Stefan Ortega has labelled one of his Manchester City teammates as world-class.

This season has seen the goalkeeper help the Citizens get to another FA Cup final after they won it in their previous campaign with the German featuring in each game of the competition.

With another final on the horizon, Ortega has taken the time to share his thoughts on his City teammates, with one in particular getting a special mention.

In a recent short video shared on the FA Cup YouTube channel where he had to say a word or phrase to sum up his City teammates, Ortega used the term “world-class” to describe Rodri.

City signed the midfielder from Atletico Madrid during the 2019 summer transfer window in a deal worth £62m.

During his time at the Manchester club, the Spaniard has made 251 appearances across all competitions, providing 28 assists and scoring 25 goals, one of which being the winner in last season’s Champions League final against Inter Milan.

In the previous Ballon d’Or rankings, Rodri came fifth, placing him above the likes of Vinicius Junior and Victor Osimhen.

He was also named as the Player of the Tournament for last season’s Champions League.

Back in September, Pep Guardiola said that the 27-year-old is the best holding-midfielder in the world, which further backs up Ortega’s claim about him being world-class.

Rodri has had another top season with City

Having featured in 29 Premier League games this season, starting all of them, Rodri has earned himself an overall performance rating of 7.59/10 from WhoScored, making him the highest-rated player in the City squad.

This is further proof of how impressive the Spain international is and why Ortega, in our view, isn’t exaggerating by saying that Rodri is a world-class player.
