Carlos Tevez admitted to hospital with chest pains as former West Ham star undergoes tests

Carlos Tevez has been admitted to hospital after suffering from chest pains, with the former West Ham, Manchester United and Manchester City striker undergoing tests

Carlos Tevez, the former Argentina forward, has been hospitalised due to chest pains. The ex-Manchester United, Manchester City, and West Ham striker was rushed to a Buenos Aires hospital on Tuesday.

Now at the helm of Argentinian top-tier team Independiente, the club released a statement: "Our coach, Carlos Tevez, entered the La Trinidad Hospital in San Isidro with chest pain."

The statement continued, confirming the initial tests were reassuring: "They carried out the corresponding studies and they were satisfactory."

Independiente also noted that Tevez would remain under medical care as he undergoes further tests.

Tevez, who earned 76 caps for his country from 2004 to 2015, took over as manager of Independiente in August 2023.

During his time in the Premier League from 2006 to 2013, Tevez clinched the title three times, twice with United and once with City, and also secured a Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup victory with United.

The Argentine forward has been hailed by Wayne Rooney as his favourite teammate to play with, having lined up alongside the England legend between 2007 and 2009 before making a controversial move to Manchester City.

Following his stint in the Premier League, Tevez had spells at Juventus, Boca Juniors and Shanghai Shenhua, before ending his career back at Boca. He hung up his boots in 2021 after earning 76 caps for Argentina.
