Chelsea captain says he is closing in on return from hamstring injury

Reece James has provided an update on his return from his injury this season after he suffered another hamstring injury and had to undergo surgery to avoid picking up a similar ailment. The right-back is now recovering from the injury and it seems his return looks closer and his recent update on Instagram.

Injuries haven’t been kind to James, who suffered a persistent injury setback this season. The right-back earlier sustained a hamstring injury in the first game of the season and was out for months.

Despite his return, he had injury relapses and barely played the full game. In December, he once again picked up a hamstring injury, but this time he decided to undergo surgery to put an end to his hamstring problem.

James is now nearing full fitness as he is continuing his rehabilitation, and his recent story on Instagram reveals the Blues captain is at the end of his recovery, which read as:

‘’I’ve been gone a while, but I’m doing well. really well. The journey has been long and tough, but nothing I couldn’t handle. I’m in a good place. The comeback is on, more hungry than ever. Stay well in the meantime. See you soon.’’

It’s encouraging that James appears to be getting close to full health, but with a few games still until the season ends, it will take some time for him to get there, possibly even throughout the campaign. Since he just recovered from a major operation, our medical staff will be more cautious this time.

He has been unlucky with injuries, and we don’t know what his official date of return is. It will certainly take time, and maybe it won’t be this season. Given how they affect you mentally and psychologically, his injuries have kept him away from matches for such a long time.

We want him to take as much time as possible to get well, so it’s okay if he doesn’t return this season. Perhaps he will take his time and return fully recovered.
