‘My little brother’… Demba Ba amazed by £32m Chelsea player after watching him against West Ham

Former Chelsea star Demba Ba was one of those who was wowed by what he was watching at Stamford Bridge yesterday.

Against London rivals West Ham, the Blues made it big back-to-back wins, picking up a 5-0 victory.

Cole Palmer got things going in the right direction with an early strike, before Conor Gallagher doubled their lead.

Noni Madueke was also on target in the first half, scoring a rare header from a Thiago Silva assist to almost put the game beyond doubt.

The second half saw Nicolas Jackson find the net twice, moving him on to 13 Premier League goals in his first season at the club.

The 22-year-old has come in to a fair amount of criticism since his £32m move last summer from La Liga, although the numbers suggest he has actually been quite the success at Stamford Bridge.

Ba praises Nicolas Jackson

One of those who has noticed this is Ba, pointing out on Twitter how many supporters are seeming to change their mind on him after his recent performances.

He said: “Football is crazy Nicolas Jackson was a doubt in people’s mind after missing couple chances in a game few weeks ago. All of a sudden he became a great footballer/goalscorer. Keep doing your thing and shining my little brother.”

Chelsea looking at Victor Osimhen

Jackson is no doubt under pressure to perform and find the net on a regular basis at the end of the season, with reports stating that they are interested in signing a new striker this summer.

It was reported over the weekend that the Blues had made the first contact over a package deal for Victor Osimhen from Napoli.

It went on to claim that the club were interested in adding Romelu Lukaku to the deal, with the fee on its own likely to be another club-record one.

Some will have been watching Jackson in recent weeks though and wondering if that signing is going to be a priority, or if strengthening elsewhere may be a better idea.
