A player who is reportedly on his way to Manchester City this summer has been described as ‘special’ by his current manager.

Pep Guardiola will go again this summer and look to build his squad for the 2024/25 season.

We currently do not know how successful City will have been this term, with a few games remaining. Potentially, the club could do the double.

But City officials are always looking to give Pep the tools to take the team to the next level, and that will surely be the case again this summer.

There have been quite a few transfer rumours so far; Lucas Paqueta seems a likely incoming, and there has also been talk of Bruno Guimaraes coming in from Newcastle United.

Earlier this year though, it was reported Manchester City have negotiated to sign Brazilian youngster Savio this summer – and his current manager believes City are bringing in a serious talent…

Michel hails incoming Manchester City player Savio as ‘special’ and admits he’s the ‘best player I’ve ever had’

Earlier this year, it was reported by renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano that City had reached an agreement to sign Savio this summer.

Savio has spent the current season on loan with high-flying Girona, from French club Troyes, with both of those clubs owned by City Football Group.

Savio has never played for Troyes, and will now head to City in the summer, having seriously impressed in Spain in 2023/24. So far this term, he has scored 10 goals and made nine assists in 37 appearances.

It sounds very much as though City are bringing in a seriously talented young player, with Girona boss Michel – who was recently suggested as a potential Guardiola replacement by sporting director Quique Carcel – dropping an exciting verdict on him over the weekend.

He is quoted by Fabrizio Romano as saying: “When I saw Sávio in the first training session I said: we’re going to play in Europe next season, he’s special. He’s the best player I’ve ever had.”

Savio sounds very exciting

This is quite the claim from Michel, and Savio could well be another fantastic find by the club.

It was reported last month that the South American starlet is expected to be in City’s pre-season tour this summer, so he will have a chance to show Guardiola what he can do.

A decision will then be taken on whether he’ll stick around or head out on loan.

It has already been claimed though that City have actually received proposals from other clubs for Savio, which really indicates just what huge potential he has. And of course last month, Savio made his senior debut for Brazil, coming on in the closing stages at Wembley against England.

It would be brilliant if he could impress enough this summer to actually be kept around the squad for 2024/25.
