Inter Milan president Zhang hoping to sign first Chinese player

Inter Milan president Steven Zhang admits he'd like to see a Chinese player signed.

However, Zhang says they're yet to find a talent good enough.

He told Tiktoker Liu Teng: "In these eight years I have thought about this aspect, but I wanted to think above all about the training of the players. At the moment there are no suitable players, then if one emerges, I hope to bring him to Italy.

"After all, the club is called Internazionale: already when it was founded it had players from different nationalities.

"Every season the goal is to aim for the maximum, every trophy has its meaning. Many fans say to abandon certain competitions, but this is not realistic, you cannot give up any honor easily. We will set the goals depending on the specific circumstances.

"The trip to China for the Tour? I don't think this is 100% definitive and I don't know for sure now, but this is what we thought. The current direction of work is similar to that of many other bigger clubs, I don't know if they have made an official announcement, and they probably haven't. Will they go to Chengdu in case? Yes, I spoke to the players yesterday. It's a place where you can see a lot of giant pandas."

Zhang also recalled two of his favourite signings: "I always remembered the goal that Eriksen scored against Tottenham in the first Champions League match of 2018. When I was told there was opportunity to sign Eriksen, I immediately said yes.

"The same thing happened to Pavard: he scored for us last year with Bayern Munich, I always remember that."
