Liverpool's stature as one of the biggest clubs in the world means its players are often mixing it up with celebrities and stars from other sports. Over the years we have seen NBA icon LeBron James collaborate with Liverpool on a series of clothing and footwear owing to their association with Nike and Fenway Sports Group.

Over the years, the likes of Daniel Craig, Samuel L. Jackson, Asif Kapadia, and a host of other celebrities have professed their admiration for the Reds, and countless others have been seen in attendance at Liverpool games. UK rapper Stormzy, however, is not a fan of the Reds. In fact, the 30-year-old is an ardent fan of Manchester United, but that hasn't stopped him mixing from current Liverpool players.

Stormzy has seemingly called out Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold to a crossbar challenge. In a series of videos posted by GRM Daily on X, the rapper could be heard mentioning his name, in relation to a video of Alexander-Arnold that went viral in 2022 in which the right-back hit a brilliant, one-time effort in a video with YouTube channel Beta Squad.

“Man’s seen that clip of Trent with Beta Squad, where he just says ‘first time’… This is that, watch this,” says Stormzy, before attempting his somewhat poor effort at emulating Alexander-Arnold.

Not to be defeated, the United fan give it another go, and again mentioned Alexander-Arnold before his attempt: “I’ve seen that clip Trent, watch this!” he says. His second effort was just as bad as the first, with the ball floating well over the bar and not close to hitting the target.

Stormzy has one final go at replicating the Liverpool right-back. “Man think ‘ah Trent, you’re so good, ah Kevin De Bruyne, ah Lionel Messi,” yeah, yeah yeah,” he says, seconds before sending another poor shot over the crossbar and failing to emulate Liverpool's No.66.

It will be interesting to see how Alexander-Arnold responds to Stormzy and, given his status as one of the biggest hip-hip artists in pop culture today, Alexander-Arnold will have no doubt heard or seen Stormzy's challenge. The London-born artist has had three No.1 albums in his career and has sold close to one million albums.

Liverpool.com says: It's all harmless fun from Stormzy, who despite being a Man United fan, no doubt respects Alexander-Arnold's ability with a football. It'll be interesting to see if the right-back responds to Stormzy, as any football duel is only bound to end in one way.
