Manchester United have now made an announcement which spells fantastic news for Crystal Palace.

The Red Devils are never usually good news for the Eagles, having ruined both of our FA Cup final appearances throughout the years, while also recording 19 wins from 29 games against us in the Premier League.

However, those at Old Trafford have now done something that will please Crystal Palace fans.

So, what have Manchester United announced? Let’s take a look…

Manchester United announce fantastic news for Crystal Palace

Well, Sir Jim Ratcliffe was considering a move to pinch Dougie Freedman from us – after INEOS secured a 25% stake in Manchester United and also took control of footballing decisions.

A story from the Guardian claimed that Manchester United had decided to target the Glaswegian to be the new Head of Recruitment at Old Trafford, and were set to make an approach.

That same article even claimed that Freedman would be open to the idea.

Now – however – Manchester United have announced that Jason Wilcox has successfully been lured from Southampton to be the new Technical Director, also known as a Director of Football or Head of Recruitment.

Barring any shock developments or sudden resignations, that should see Freedman remain at Selhurst Park for the considerable future, where he has already pulled off some incredible signings.

Busy summer should be expected

The Austrian is already said to have made one transfer request in Sporting CP No.10 Marcus Edwards – according to A Bola.

Freedman may also have to find a few more bargains to provide squad depth, with eight players out of contract and potentially leaving Selhurst Park for nothing.

Be sure to keep your eyes on We Are Palace over the summer, as we expect a lot to happen.
