Tennis players dominated the top 15 of the highest-paid female athletes in 2024 as Coco Gauff topped the list for the second consecutive year.

There are nine tennis stars in the top 15, six in the top 10 and four in the top five of the list compiled by Sportico.

Gauff, the world No 3, finished the campaign with around $9.4m in prize money — $4,805,000 of which was earned for winning the WTA Finals in Riyadh.

The 20-year-old American collected $21m — over two thirds of her total yearly earnings — in endorsements.

According to Sportico, the endorsement earnings estimates “were compiled through conversations with those familiar with marketing agreements and also include royalties, memorabilia, appearance fees, media and businesses tied to their celebrity.” The figures “are all before taxes and any agent fees.”

World No 2 Iga Swiatek takes third place after securing $8.4m prize money and $13m in endorsements in 2024.

Chinese star Zheng Qinwen, who is ranked fifth in the WTA Rankings, was the fourth-highest earner, raking in $5.6m in prize money and $15m in endorsements.

Aryna Sabalenka, who won two Grand Slams in 2024 and finished the season as the world No 1, is fifth on the list.

The Belarusian earned more prize money than any other woman this year ($9.7m), but her endorsements total of $8m was significantly lower than some of her rivals.

Naomi Osaka and Emma Raducanu are the other tennis players in the top 10, with the duo both winning a huge portion of their yearly earnings through endorsements.

Jasmine Paolini, Jessica Pegula and Elena Rybakina finished 11th, 13th and 14th on the list respectively.
