Bayern in waiting: Leverkusen open the door for Tah sale in the summer!

According to consistent media reports, Bayern are very interested in signing Jonathan Tah in the summer. Leverkusen boss Fernando Carro has now opened the door for a transfer.

According to the latest reports from BILD and Sky, Bayern are looking closely at signing Jonathan Tah. According to the report, Munich are considering making an approach for the German international in the summer.

The fact that the 28-year-old is only contractually tied to Bayer Leverkusen until 2025 makes the centre-back an interesting transfer candidate.

Carro makes it clear: extend or sell

Leverkusen would love to keep the DFB star for the long term. Tah, on the other hand, is flirting with a move to a top European club and is willing to take the next step in his career in the summer, as Sky reports.

Unlike Florian Wirtz, Tah is not unsellable: „We want to extend his contract. We are a club that won’t let players go on a free transfer. That means we have to extend him, otherwise we will sell him,“ emphasised Bayer managing director Fernando Carro in an interview with Sky.

According to the pay-TV broadcaster, Bayern are already in contact with Tah’s management. The centre-back can imagine a move to Munich in principle, but also has options abroad.

When asked whether Bayern had already contacted Leverkusen about Tah, Carro made it clear: „Not with us.“

Should it come to that, Max Eberl and Co. can expect tough negotiations. According to reports, Bayer are demanding almost 40 million euros for the defender, even though his contract expires in just under 12 months.

Another problem: Leverkusen do not want to lose any players to direct competitors. In other words, they will try to sell the DFB international abroad.
