Incoming West Ham United manager Julen Lopetegui appears to having been making some enquiries already.
Julen Lopetegui will almost certainly replace David Moyes as the new West Ham manager imminently, and he’s seemingly getting all his ducks in a row before the official announcement with a couple of enquiries being lodged for new players.
Lopetegui will apparently be handed a two-year deal by the Hammers owners.
And the Spaniard is reportedly already eyeing up six really exciting new signings for West Ham.
The former Wolves boss, 57, has a lot of work to do with the squad that has been left behind by Moyes.
And it seems like he has two new signings in particular in mind already…
Lopetegui is very keen to get the signings of a new striker and a left-back through the door at the London Stadium before the start of the new season.
And the Spaniard allegedly already has two specific players in mind for the job…
According to a report from the Sun, Lopetegui wants to bring Youssef En-Nesyri and Marcos Acuna to West Ham.
In fact, it is suggested the the 57-year-old has already personally lodged enquiries for the Sevilla duo.
Acuna, 32, is a Worldd Cup winning left-back and has been a superb player over the past five or six years for Sevilla and Argentina.
Meanwhile, our interest in 26-year-old En-Nesyri has been well documented, and we broke the news right here on Hammers News yesterday that he is in fact Lopetegui’s prime transfer target.
I would love to see us sign En-Nesyri, but I’m not overly keen on the idea of 32-year-old Acuna moving to the Premier League.
That said, if both players come to West Ham after the Lopetegui enquiries, I will back them to the hilt. The Spanish coach needs our full support when he takes over, and that includes backing his new signings.
