Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres scored twice in a minute as he brought his side level with Porto in the dying stages of the match.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Porto got off to a great start against league leaders Sporting, thanks to first-half goals from Evanilson and Pepe Aquino. Gyokeres, who did not start the match, came on at half-time but failed to have any sort of effect on the standing of the game until he combined with fellow substitutes Nuno Santos and Marcus Edwards in the 86th minute of the match, to score twice within 60 seconds. The match ended in a 2-2 draw that pushed Sporting closer to the Liga NOS title.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
The draw was not exactly what Sporting would've hoped for as they look to confirm their league title victory over Benfica, who now sit just five points off the Leones. However, given the context of the match, they will be glad to have walked away with a point as Porto dominated the proceedings and could even have gone into half-time with a three-goal lead.
DID YOU KNOW?
Gyokeres has been a major target for Arsenal and Chelsea throughout the season, and this two-goal performance will have the two London clubs even more intrigued with the striker, as the goals also brought up his 40th strike of the season. He reportedly is valued at €100 million (£85.5m/107.1m) by the soon-to-be Portuguese champions.
WHAT NEXT FOR GYOKERES?
The Swedish striker will be in action again when Sporting look to confirm their league title victory with a win against Portimonense on Saturday, May 4.
