The forward has been linked with a move away from Liverpool in recent weeks and the striker has only added fuel to the fire

Darwin Nunez has sparked rumours of a potential exit from Liverpool after deleting all posts related to the Reds on his Instagram account.

The Uruguayan striker made the switch to Anfield nearly two years ago following an impressive season with Benfica, attracting attention from several top European clubs. Despite securing a move to the English Premier League big hitters in an £85million deal, Nunez has struggled to consistently deliver on the pitch. His inconsistent performances have drawn criticism, particularly regarding his finishing skills. Although he has netted 33 goals for Jurgen Klopp's team, he has missed crucial opportunities in several key matches this season.

With a managerial change on the horizon, speculation about Nunez's future at the club is rife. Adding fuel to the fire, the 24-year-old has removed all photos of himself in Liverpool kit from his Instagram account, leaving only family photos and images from his time with Benfica and the Uruguayan national team. However, his profile picture remains one of him in Liverpool colours, reports the Mirror.

While Nunez has not publicly expressed any intention to leave Liverpool, the incoming manager, rumoured to be Arne Slot, will likely reassess the squad. Several high-profile players, including Mohamed Salah, are also set to have their futures at the club reviewed. Nunez and Salah are among several strikers currently at Anfield, including Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo, who have all shown their potential.

However, Jamie Carragher recently questioned whether it's time for his old club to seek new attacking options. Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: "I think there is a question to ask. You want him to do well because there is so much that you like because he gives everything, he runs and causes trouble and gets the odd goal and gets an assist. But after two years when Liverpool this season are going to the title and those big games, you need your man to score away at Old Trafford, away at Goodison, in the European game at Atalanta. There is no time to waste, this is not October or November. This is the business end."

"In terms of Nunez and where the club go forward now, we have all been in squads where someone comes in and maybe you talk about the first year and maybe say, okay he's getting up to speed with and he's improving, and it looked like he was at the start of the season. But it has ground to a halt."
