Journalist Reveals “Arsenal Are Showing Strong Interest” In Serie A Ace Who Has Scored 17 Goals This Season

Arsenal are monitoring Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic’s contract situation, according to journalist Mirko Di Natale.

Speaking on TV Play’s Ti Amo Calciomercato programme (quotes via Sport Witness), Di Natale said that the Gunners could swoop in if the Serbian international cannot agree terms over extending his stay at Juve:

“Arsenal are showing strong interest from England. Juve and Vlahovic will have to find an agreement and ensure that both parties are satisfied.”

Vlahovic will still have two years remaining on his current deal at the end of the season but Di Natale claims the forward will be sold this summer if he doesn’t put pen to paper on an extension.

Arsenal have been tracking Vlahovic for a number of years

Mikel Arteta’s side have made signing a striker a top priority for the next transfer window, with the likes of Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres and Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee having all been linked.

However, the London club’s interest in Vlahovic precedes all of those players. They tried to snap up the Serbian during the 2022 January transfer window when he was still at Fiorentina. However, he turned down the move to the Emirates at the time in favour of a switch to Turin

Since then, Vlahovic has had his ups and downs at Juventus but he has been in good form for the Serie A side this season, scoring 17 times in all competitions.

Will there be competition for the striker?

Chelsea were heavily linked with a move to Vlahovic last year. It was reported in the Italian media that the 24-year-old was offered in exchange for Romelu Lukaku. However, a deal never transpired.

It remains to be seen if the Blues would consider making a move for the striker this summer but, based on Di Natale’s comments, it appears that Arsenal have positioned themselves to win the race if he becomes available.
