Premier League s***house tells Man Utd star 'not even I would do this' over Coventry antics

Manchester United forward Antony made a fool of himself by cupping his ears at Coventry's players after his side's penalty shootout win in the FA Cup on Sunday, leaving onlookers embarrassed for him

When your s***housing gets s***housed by a professional s***house, perhaps it's time to stop s***housing.

After Manchester United's FA Cup semi-final win over Coventry on Sunday, Antony managed to do what he's failed to do all season: make the headlines. Only he did so for all the wrong reasons.

The all-tricks-no-substance Brazilian, 24, obnoxiously cupped his ears at Coventry's dejected stars after Rasmus Hojlund's winning penalty in the shootout - presumably forgetting the fact that while he'd been on the pitch the Championship club had scored three times without reply.

He took some pretty significant flack for his antics on social media, with fans, pundits and even former United players labelling him everything from "pathetic" to "embarrassing".

Then, to make matters, Brentford loanee and notorious wind-up merchant Neal Maupay chimed in, quoting-posting a clip of Antony's high jinks on X and writing: "Just for the record, not even I would do this," along with a crying face emoji.

One fan wrote in response: "When even the elite rattler wouldn’t do it you know it’s embarrassing." A second laughed: "When Neal is saying he wouldn’t do this, you know it’s a step too far," while a third added: "I rate this bloke so highly."

Maupay, 27, has a pretty hefty s***housery catalogue. He's mocked James Maddison's dart-throwing celebration, made crying gestures to fans, disrupted free-kicks while warming up on the touchline and, funnily enough, even cupped his ears at opponents... but, you know, not Championship opponents.

He's spent this season on loan from Everton at Brentford, and has eight goals in 30 games in all competitions so far. The French striker signed for the Toffees from Brighton in 2022, but scored just once in 29 matches in his sole season on Merseyside. Prior to his spell on the south coast, he spent two years at Brentford when the Bees were in the Championship.
