Chelsea fans may be slightly surprised to hear the name of a Blues player that has a better minutes per goal rate than West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen this season.
If you want an example of a player that’s enjoyed a remarkable 2023/24 campaign, Jarrod Bowen is a great one.
The West Ham and England attacker has been a talisman for his club side. As it stands ,the right-winger has 20 goals and 10 assists in 43 Hammers appearances across all competitions.
Incidentally, Chelsea were linked with the 27-year-old West Ham forward as recently last month. Journalist Simon Phillips reported via Substack that Chelsea “really like” Bowen, but any deal is unlikely because he’s under contract at the London Stadium until 2030.
If you look at the statistics, Chelsea’s Noni Madueke is surprisingly scoring his goals at a quicker rate than Bowen.
First of all, we’re not suggesting that Madueke is on par with what the West Ham man has achieved this year. It’s merely a stat that points out the potential of Chelsea’s right-winger.
Look below at some statistics taken from the BBC:
Name | Goals | Goals Per Minute |
Cole Palmer | 24 | 139 |
Jarrod Bowen | 20 | 188 |
Nicolas Jackson | 16 | 204 |
Noni Madueke | 8 | 175 |
Madueke’s scored eight goals in 31 Chelsea matches in all competitions this season, but 175 minutes per goal is a very healthy return.
