An Arsenal star has admitted that he is now taking inspiration from Cristiano Ronaldo to take his game on the pitch to the next level.

The 39-year-old Portuguese international is regarded by many as one of the best football players of all time, with Ronaldo winning the Ballon d’Or five times as well as five UEFA Champions League titles across spells with Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Now in Saudi Arabia where Ronaldo has again been in elite goalscoring form, the veteran attacker has been cited by many top players across the years as an athlete that has been an inspiration, with the striker known for his incredible work-ethic to stay in top shape.

And one Arsenal player is following a similar path in regard to his fellow players with Ronaldo.

Bukayo Saka says Ronaldo has been an inspiration behind Arsenal form

Speaking to the Times, Bukayo Saka admitted that Ronaldo has been used as a source for inspiration behind his form at Arsenal, with the winger making sure to spend time in the gym to improve himself physically.

With 19 goals and 14 assists this season having played 45 games in all competitions, it’s clear that Saka has never been as fit as he currently is, with the Arsenal forward one of Mikel Arteta’s most trusted players on the pitch.

Indeed, whilst most Arsenal fans don’t hold Ronaldo in the highest of regards, there’s no denying that the striker has been a model athlete throughout his career in terms of how the Portuguese superstar has looked after himself.

And with Saka now looking to emulate Ronaldo in this regard, it is nothing but a good thing for Arsenal, who this season have seen the 22-year-old attacker at his absolute best despite his young age.

Saka is taking the right lessons from the world’s best

Coming off the back of an incredible performance in the north London derby, Saka’s form this season has been instrumental in Arsenal chasing Manchester City for the Premier League title.

And after his latest admission regarding Ronaldo, it’s also clear that Saka is taking in all the right lessons from football’s best, with the results showing on the pitch that the attacker is only getting better and better.

With three games left to go this season, Saka will want to end the season on a high, and Arsenal fans will love nothing more than to see their Star Boy with the Premier League trophy in his hands next month.
