Bayern Munich chiefs queue to praise departing Tuchel

Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer hailed manager Thomas Tuchel after their Champions League semi final progression.

The German giants are through to the last four of the competition, beating Arsenal in the quarter finals.

Hainer was impressed with how Tuchel set up the team tactically to nullify Arsenal in the 1-0 second leg and 3-2 aggregate win.

Post-game, Hainer said: "I think Thomas Tuchel did an excellent job. A tactical masterpiece.

"The fact that he played with Nous Mazraoui and Guerreiro was a perfect fit."

Director of Sport Max Eberl added: "Simply done cleverly. Serge was out, Phonzy [Davies] was suspended.

"They discussed it very cleverly with the coaching staff how they wanted to do it."
