The Premier League title race will go down to the final two weeks of the season after Arsenal comfortably beat Bournemouth to keep pace with Manchester City.

The Gunners are currently ahead of the reigning champions, though Pep Guardiola's side have a game in hand on their title rivals. Mikel Arteta is now ironically relying on bitter rivals Tottenham to beat City in that game in hand.

And the Spaniard is still confident that his side will end up winning their first title for 20 years. He has warned Guardiola that the Gunners will keep pushing to the final minute of the season as they look to end their long drought.

Elsewhere, club legend Ian Wright hailed the performance of Declan Rice since his move to the Emirates and Peru international Oliver Sonne issued a come-and-get-me plea to the Gunners. Here, Mirror Football rounds up the latest Arsenal news.

Arteta lays down City challenge

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has warned rivals Manchester City that his side will push them all the way in the title race. The Gunners are just ahead of City, with Arteta admitting his side are desperate to finish top.

"Very excited. We have done it for nine and a half months now so it’s two weeks to go. We really want to get it done. We are closer to where we were yesterday and hopefully we can bring that title here," he said.

"If a year is enough to do that [become mature]? But for some it takes five, ten years to achieve that. But yes, at the end we are trying to do the right things. The energy and the commitment from the boys in everything we do is unbelievable. And hopefully it will pay off."

Wright hails Rice

Declan Rice celebrates scoring against Bournemouth
Ian Wright has hailed Declan Rice after his man of the match performance against Bournemouth

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has hailed Declan Rice as being the difference maker for the Gunners this season. Rice scored once and assisted another in the win over Bournemouth, earning full praise from Wright.

“He is the difference in respect to being able to play in any of those positions in midfield. He can find himself in any situation and be able to deal with it. He was all over the place," Wright told Match of the Day.

"People talk about whether he can play in a possession-based midfield - of course he can. Will he score enough goals? We’re seeing that now. He’s got the capability, the skill, the strength. What Arsenal are doing is a lot down to this man.”

Gunners receive come-and-get-me plea

Peru international Oliver Sonne has issued a come-and-get-me plea to Arsenal after helping Silkeborg reach the Danish Cup final. The 23-year-old has spent his entire career in Denmark and has become Silkeborg's first-choice right-back since arriving in 2021.

But he is now eyeing a move away from JYSK Park, despite enjoying a successful season. Instead of staying, Sonne has name-checked Arsenal as his destination of choice in the summer transfer window.

He told Tipsbladet : "I have been here for three years, and there are times when you want to try new things. I would like to play in the Italian league or in Arsenal. It would be a dream of mine, but I don't know if it's possible at the moment. I hope it can become a reality one day."
