Real Madrid could be set to let go of a few fringe players this summer, with it inevitable that some move on for more first-team opportunities.

With Los Blancos seemingly set to recruit heavily, with Endrick and Kylian Mbappe being potentially added to the front line, they could end up selling some of their bench players to make room in the squad.

One player who now looks likely to leave is Dani Ceballos. The Spaniard has started just one La Liga game this season, despite appearing off the bench 13 times, as he struggled with injuries throughout the campaign.

Interest in Ceballos is growing across Europe, and he could be set to join a side who will compete in the Champions League next season.

AC Milan are interested in Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos

A report from Diario AS in Spain has revealed that Italian giants AC Milan are interested in Ceballos, and would be keen on an initial loan deal with an option to buy.

This would be a similar deal to the one which saw Brahim Diaz move to the San Siro for two years before returning to Madrid, but Los Blancos are seemingly keen on a permanent deal at around £8.6m (€10m).

The 27-year-old is open to a move, given the lack of playing time he has been given at the Santiago Bernabeu, and a transfer may suit all parties.

Ceballos will only lose value if he is stuck on the bench for another season, and if Milan make a permanent offer, it is one Real Madrid should accept.

Arda Guler could be set for an increased role if he is able to stay fit next season, and it would be more useful to give the young talent more minutes than Ceballos as a backup.

The former Real Betis and Arsenal star is a useful player but is a level below being of starting quality for Real Madrid, and it makes sense for him to leave to try and revive his career elsewhere.

Carlo Ancelotti has previously highlighted him as a player with “a lot of quality,” and whilst he would be a strong rotational option, it now appears that he is no longer prepared to accept such a minimal role in the squad.
