Manchester City forwards Erling Haaland and Phil Foden were notably absent from Tuesday's training, casting doubts over their availability for the upcoming Premier League fixture against Brighton and Hove Albion. That could be a significant boost for Arsenal in the Premier League title race, with the Gunners sitting a point clear of Pep Guardiola's side.

Haaland, who sat out of Man City's FA Cup semi-final victory over Chelsea on Saturday due to a muscle issue, was replaced by Julian Alvarez in the starting lineup. The Norwegian had been substituted before the extra-time period in City's Champions League defeat to Real Madrid, last Wednesday.

"He's [Haaland] injured," said Man City boss Guardiola in a post-match interview with BBC Sport. "I don't think it's much but he's not able for today," he explained, leaving Haaland's status for the upcoming Brighton match uncertain.

Foden, on the other hand, contributed to City's full-time efforts on Saturday, securing their spot in the final. Yet, he too was missing from the training ground on Tuesday.

With another day of training on the horizon before they head to the AMEX Stadium, it remains to be seen if Haaland or Foden will be fit to face Brighton, reports the Manchester Evening News. Guardiola is scheduled to speak to the media again on Wednesday, where updates on Haaland and Foden's fitness are highly anticipated.

Arsenal will hope that Man City are not at full strength against Brighton as Mikel Arteta's team look to hold on to their slender lead at the top of the table. Foden and Haaland are integral players to Man City, who have a game in hand on Arsenal, and their absence or lack of fitness could significantly impact their title rivals.

Meanwhile, Man City defender John Stones returned to training after being subbed off at half-time during the Wembley clash, easing worries about his condition. He joined teammates Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish as the club's preparations for Brighton continue.
