Kai Havertz has now matched an achievement that only Alexis Sanchez has managed at Arsenal over the past seven years.

Much was made about Kai Havertz’s move to Arsenal over the summer as Mikel Arteta’s men parted with £65 million to land him from Chelsea.

The German forward hadn’t exactly dazzled in west London and many wondered where he would fit into this Arsenal side. But after a difficult start to life at the Emirates Stadium, it’s fair to say that Havertz is proving plenty of people wrong at the moment.

The 24-year-old has led the line for Arsenal in recent months and his record in front of goal has helped them keep pace with Manchester City in the race for the title.

Indeed, Havertz has netted eight goals and provided five assists in his last 11 Premier League games for the Gunners.

His latest effort came in yesterday’s North London Derby and proved to be the winning goal after Arsenal came through a second-half scare to pick up a 3-2 win.

Arteta revealed that Havertz played through illness in yesterday’s derby while also lauding the forward after a ‘sensational’ display.

Havertz hits impressive landmark as Arsenal beat Tottenham

According to Squawka, Havertz has now done something that only Alexis Sanchez has managed in the 2016-17 campaign.

The German forward has now registered a goal and an assist in four-plus Premier League games this season.

Havertz is the only player to hit this landmark since Sanchez’s incredible last full season at Arsenal.

Havertz continues to impress

One thing that has surprised many is Havertz’s performances as a striker for Arsenal this year.

He often struggled while playing in a similar role at Chelsea but the Gunners look a far better side with the German star up front.

It’s no secret that Arsenal were continuously urged to bring in a new forward in January, with the likes of Ivan Toney heavily linked.

But Havertz is proving he’s capable of leading the line for Arsenal and his record in front of goal has been impressive of late.
