Arsenal’s finishing problems are becoming a real point of contention again.

There’s been a lot of chat about Arsenal needing a new number nine in the summer, and this weekend’s game against Aston Villa served to further highlight that.

Indeed, Arsenal were, once again, off it in front of goals as the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz faltered in the final third, and there’s been more chat about Arsenal’s finishing problems.

Speaking on The Game Football Podcast, Tony Cascarino has been discussing Arsenal’s finishing problems, and he’s stated that the best finisher in Arsenal’s squad is actually someone who can’t get a game at the moment.

Arsenal’s best finisher can’t get a game

Cascarino spoke about Arsenal’s finishing issues, claiming that Eddie Nketiah is actually the Gunners’ most natural goalscorer.

“They don’t have that type of forward, they all have qualities but different ones. The most natural finisher out of all of Arsenal forwards for me is Nketiah, but he’s not making the team, he’s out of the side,” Cascarino said.

Eddie Nketiah knows how to finish

There’s a lot to be said about Eddie Nketiah as a footballer and the things he can and can’t do.

However, there’s one thing you can’t deny, he knows how to score when he gets a chance.

Nketiah’s finishing has always been deadly. But, of course, he’s not the best at linking play nor is he great at getting into the right positions at the right time.

Nketiah could be an important weapon for Arsenal during this title race, but it’s hard to imagine that he will get back into the team at this point, especially as Arsenal have proven throughout the course of this season that they have plenty of players capable of coming up with the goods when it matters most.
