One West Ham United manager target has endeared himself to the Hammers fans already it seems.

One manager target after another is being leaked to the press right now, with the future of David Moyes at West Ham looking increasingly more uncertain with every week that passes.

The Hammers fans were hyped yesterday when news of our interest in appointing Sporting CP coach Ruben Amorim broke.

However, that excitement has been short-lived, with the latest claims suggesting that the 39-year-old will not be taking over at the London Stadium (Fabrizio Romano).

What does seem to be certain right now is that Moyes will leave the club at the end of the season.

But who will come in and replace him? One man being heavily linked with the job is Paulo Fonseca.

And something the Lille coach has just said will appeal greatly to the Hammers fans…

Fonseca, 51, is reportedly admired greatly by the Hammers board.

It’s little wonder as to why with some of the football that he has his Lille side playing now, and the job he did in charge of Shakhtar Donetsk previously.

So what would Fonseca bring to the Hammers? Who better to give an answer to that question than the man himself.

Fonseca explained how he approaches his role at Lille, and the West Ham fans will be salivating over his comments:

“I’m not afraid to play a kid who’s like, 16. The goal of Lille is to promote players, it’s part of my job. For me, the players don’t have age, they have talent. I want to play in an offensive way and to promote yoiung players. The goal is to play in a way to attract the supporters.”

This fills me with tremendous excitement.

Someone who likes to play an attractive brans of attacking football AND is keen to bring talented young players through to the first-team is exactly what we need at West Ham right now.

Moyes has brought real success to the London Stadium but he has reached his ceiling now. The brand of football that he implements is turgid, and his record of bringing through academy players really is quite poor.

If West Ham manager target Fonseca does end up taking over at the London Stadium, we’ll be in a good position to make some real progress as far as I’m concerned.
