David Sullivan could now be forced into what would be a dream managerial appointment for West Ham United.

West Ham co-owner David Sullivan is clearly looking for someone to come in and replace David Moyes, with Julen Lopetegui looking like the man most likely to be handed the reins at the London Stadium.

Moyes continues to insist that he could still be in charge of the Hammers next season, but that’s just not going to happen is it.

The Scot is finished at the London Stadium – the playing style he implements is just not conducive with finishing inside the top six or seven in the Premier League table anymore.

Moyes has made numerous big mistakes over the past nine months, especially in the transfer market, and Kalvin Phillips could end up being the deal that costs him his job.

The key thing now for Sullivan will be to bring a proper upgrade on Moyes into the London Stadium this summer.

And the latest news coming out of Germany suggests that the West Ham owner could be saved from making what would be a terrible, terrible mistake…

Bayern enquiry could lead David Sullivan to dream manager appointment

In my opinion, Lopetegui really isn’t the man we need to take us on to the next level.

In fact, I would go as far as suggesting that I would prefer to keep Moyes, and that is saying something!

I truly believe that the Hammers should be looking to appoint a young, ambitious and attack-minded coach with fresh ideas.

Lopetegui certainly doesn’t fit into that category, but the good news is that Sullivan’s decision to appoint him as the new West Ham manager could well be taken out of his hands…

Whilst Lopetegui may well be leading the race for the West Ham job, a spanner appears to have been thrown into the works, but in a very good way.

According to Florian Plettenberg, German giants Bayern Munich have made an enquiry for Lopetegui:

So, could this be the twist we so desperately need? I think so…

It was claimed yesterday that Lopetegui is the leading candidate for the Hammers job, with Ruben Amorim the other man who is ‘in the mix’ to replace Moyes.

If Bayern end up appointing the 57-year-old Spaniard, it could force David Sullivan into making what would be the dream manager appointment in the form of Amorim.

Let’s just hope that this situation plays out how I’m hoping it will!
