Two managers reportedly agree deals in principle to replace David Moyes at West Ham United this summer.

It was recently suggested that the future of West Ham boss David Moyes will actually not be decided until the end of the season.

Well, it seems like that claim wasn’t entirely true. The Hammers owners are clearly actively on the hunt for a new manager now.

We can be certain that this is true because the stories are being leaked to all the usual sources from those inside the club.

West Ham’s fall from grace in 2024 has been spectacularly painful to witness. When we beat Arsenal on December 9th, we sat in 6th spot in the Premier League table, six points off the Champions League places with a game in hand.

However, we have regressed badly since then, winning a pathetic four of our last 21 games in all competitions.

Moyes has to shoulder most of the blame for that poor run of form, especially after the disastrous January transfer window.

MORE WEST HAM STORIES

The buck stops with him after all. And now it seems like his time in East London is done.

Who will replace him though?

There are apparently two very experienced managers apparently leading the charge for the Hammers hot-seat…

The Scot is very obviously a dead man walking now, after the awful form of his team over the past three months.

And two men in particular seem to be hot favourites to replace David Moyes at the London Stadium.

According to a report from David Sullivan confidants Claret and Hugh, Spanish coach Julen Lopetegui and Lille manager Paulo Fonseca have agreed deals in principle to become the new West Ham boss.

A recent report claimed that the Hammers have offered Lopetegui a three-year deal to take over at the London Stadium.

Meanwhile, it has been suggested that 51-year-old Fonseca is firmly on the radar of the West Ham baord as well.

Out of the two, I would choose Fonseca all day long. The Lille boss implements an attractive brand of attacking, free-flowing football.

The same cannot be said of the 57-year-old Spaniard unfortunately.

With famous board source C&H running with the ‘both managers agree deals to replace Moyes’ narrative, I reckon it’s almost certain that we’ll end up with either Fonseca or Lopetegui.

Let’s hope that if that is indeed the case, we appoint the former rather than the latter this summer.
