Ivan Rakitic played for six seasons at Barcelona from his arrival from Sevilla until his return to the Andalusian club. He has had some great moments with the club and some terrifying ones.

The Croatian spoke on the Saudi podcast 'MicsPod' about his arrival at Barcelona and the ins and outs of the dressing room. He also gave a bit of a dig at the Catalan giants over Real Madrid.

"Real Madrid make the changes of generations more progressively. Modric and Kroos are still at the club, they are looking after the young players. At Barcelona there are too many changes too quickly," he confessed.

The Croatian international spoke about the dressing room, specifically the trident that led the attack. "I don't have to explain to Messi how to play. I have to know where to place myself in attack so that he has a more advantageous situation," he added.

However, despite the praise for Messi, Rakitic remains with Neymar: "He makes football look like dancing, I think he still has a lot to give"

Rakitic confessed that the 2014/15 season saw "the best campaign in the history of the Champions League", after Barcelona eliminated the champions of the other major European leagues. However, that was not enough.

"We lost the Champions League in 2018 and 2019 ourselves. Of course the rivals deserved it, but I don't think we tried hard enough. Maybe we got tired of winning. When you win so much, you lose focus and you're not attentive to the details, and that's when you get killed," he reflected.
