The two coaches reacted to the PSL encounter which saw the Buccaneers blow Thwihli Thwahla away at Harry Gwala Stadium.
What happened
The Buccaneers clinched a crucial 4-0 victory over struggling Royal AM in Premier Soccer League action on Sunday afternoon.
Patrick Maswanganyi scored his fifth goal of the season through a controversial penalty before Thalente Mbatha netted his first goal in Pirates' colours.
Teenager Relebohile Mofokeng extended the lead 15 minutes to the final whistle before Kabelo Dlamini scored the last goal to give Jose Riveiro a well-deserved win.
However, the Spanish tactician was not really happy with his players' display despite scoring four goals.
Ribeiro not happy
The Spanish tactician conceded that his players were not at their best level against the KwaZulu-Natal side.
''Congratulations to everyone, it is nice to get a good result again in front of a fantastic crowd,'' Riveiro told SuperSport TV.
''But I'm not happy with our performance, especially in the first 45 minutes, we lost control of the game many times.
''It was not a football game that we have been playing recently, but I think in the second half we found ourselves a little bit more in the last 30-35 minutes and we won the game.''
Maduka not pleased
Brutal Royal AM coach John Maduka bemoans ''sleeping'' in the game as a result of his side's loss to Pirates at home.
"I think if you look at the game itself, we started well, we did compete for each and every ball, whenever we were in possession, we could keep the ball and get to that final third," Maduka told SuperSport after the game.
"Maybe after the penalty you concede but still we were on it. We still continued pushing in the first-half. Second-half you can't fault the boys for the effort. It's only that we made mistakes and you know a team like this, with the quality that they have, you make mistakes they punish you.
"And they wait for that moment. Every time we go to bed, we sleep, that's where we find ourselves conceding the goals because we're a team that plays to go forward and they make sure that they wait for those opportunities, that you make a mistake they punish you and exactly it happened. It wasn't meant to be, hard luck we look forward to coming game," he said.
"When you're trailing 3-0, 4-0, you've got to take the game to the opposition, when we were 2-0 down, we thought we're still in the game, you can't make drastic changes, you still need to be patient because the boys were still doing well."
'The best decision I made'
The 26-year-old star, who emerged as the Man of the Match against John Maduka's side, said that joining the Soweto giants is the best decision he made.
''It is part of the game, the coach told me to go more forward in this game and I managed to do that. My teammates help me to get a lot of balls so I can give them passes and also to score, it is a collective work,'' Maswanganyi said after the match.
''For me, it is very easy to play with these players, they help me a lot together with the coach.
''Coming here was a great move for me because I'm able to express myself the way I want and I'm able to play the football that I want, so I'm very happy to be here.''
