Pundits' pre-season predictions for Premier League top four are going viral and one has absolutely nailed it

Premier League pundits make predictions about this season's table - one managed to nail it.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are locked in the tightest title race we've seen for some time.

The Gunners went top by four points with a 5-0 thrashing of Chelsea on Tuesday, while Liverpool lost ground in Tuesday's 2-0 defeat to bitter rivals Everton.

City have two games in hand as they hunt to win an unprecedented fourth title on the bounce. Pep Guardiola's side take on Brighton on Thursday evening.

Those three are a level above the rest of the division. Who makes up the top four is up for debate. Last season, Manchester United managed to come third and win the Carabao Cup during Erik ten Hag's first season in charge. They currently sit sixth, seven points behind Tottenham Hotspur.

Making up the final spot in the top four is surprise package Aston Villa. Unai Emery has guided the Villans to a Europa Conference League semi-final and within touching distance of Champions League football.

Few predicted Villa, who were 14th when Emery replaced Steven Gerrard, to hit the heights they have this season.

One man can claim to have had the inside track. Former Villa defender Stephen Warnock, who works as a pundit for the BBC, put all his cards on the table back in August by claiming Villa would pip United to fourth.

Explaining his predictions at the time, Warnock said: "United were bailed out massively last season by Marcus Rashford's incredible form after the World Cup, but he couldn't sustain that and I am not sure they have got anyone else who can take over when he's not in top form."

The entire list. (

Warnock's final Premier League table has City as winners, Arsenal runners-up and Liverpool third, with Villa in fourth. With the title in City's hands, the 42-year-old might end up very smug next month.

26 out of 27 pundits predicted City to win the league. Former England international Ellen White is the only person who tipped Arsenal to bring home their first title in 20 years.
