Liverpool are reportedly not considering Gary O’Neil as a contender to replace Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season. O’Neil has impressed with Wolves this campaign, guiding the Midlands outfit to what is likely to be a comfortable mid-table finish.
The Reds are trimming down a list of potential candidates for the Anfield job next season. Surprisingly, it seems that Ruben Amorim will not replace Klopp. The Portuguese coach has been linked with a switch from Sporting CP to West Ham.
Former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has already ruled himself out of taking the job, or the vacant position at Bayern Munich. Alonso will continue at Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen for at least another season.
According to The Athletic, O’Neil is not being considered.
