HITC understands Real Madrid are already making it clear to rivals that they want to keep Brazilian forward Rodrygo.

Rodrygo has enjoyed an outstanding campaign for Madrid, by the far the best of his career with 17 goals and seven assists already to his name.

The 23-year-old has became an important figure for Real under Carlo Ancelotti taking on the striker duties for much of the season and he played a crucial role in their Champions League victory over Manchester City, scoring their only goal at The Etihad in the second-leg.

Rodrygo signed a new long-term deal last year, tying him to the Spanish giants until 2028 – however, HITC can reveal that a number of clubs are making it known to the player’s representatives that they would be keen to take him if he became available and/or unsettled.

The reason for the interest emerging in Rodrygo is because of what is coming this summer. Compatriot Endrick, the most talked about teenager in world football, is arriving and he will be joined by French superstar Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain.

With Endrick and Mbappe coming in, that does mean that some clubs believe that there may be a chance of landing Rodrygo.

Rodrygo shunned a host of English clubs in 2018 when he opted to join Real from Santos – who he joined in 2019 when he turned 18. At the time Rodrygo shunned the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool to make the move to the Spanish capital.

However, now HITC understands that a number of Premier League clubs are keeping a close eye on Rodyrgo’s situation – as they believe Real will struggle to give enough game time to all their attacking talents – when you consider there is also the likes of Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham, Brahim Diaz, Fede Valverde to call upon.

Manchester City and Liverpool keen on Rodrygo

HITC has been told by sources that Manchester City and Liverpool are maintaining a ‘watching brief’ on Rodrygo’s situation, whilst it is believed the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are being kept informed by intermediaries.

However, HITC understands that Real have already told the player and his representatives that his future is not in doubt – despite the impeding arrivals.

Rodrygo himself has been quizzed by the Spanish press about his future, particularly in regards to the impending arrival of Mbappe – who many believe will not be coming to Madrid to test out the Santiago Bernabeu substitute benches.

Rodrygo insists he is happy to play with Kylian Mbappe

Asked about Mbappe arriving, he told Marca: “Yes, there are many of us [attacking players]. We’ll see what the coach decides. Next year I think it’s a coach’s problem… a good problem and I’m calm.’

On his own future, he added: !I don’t think anything, I’m just thinking about being focused on this season and finishing it well, with as many titles as possible.”

Rodrygo has previously sung the praises of Mbappe. “I would love for him to come here. I always want to play with the best players and he is one of the best in the world,” the Brazilian told AS.

“I would love to play with him, but I can’t talk too much about him. He’s a PSG player and I have to respect that.”
