In a week that saw Manchester City regain top spot in the Premier League they now have a chance to seal a place in the Champions League semi-finals.

Pep Guardiola's team capitalised on defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal at the weekend as they dismantled Luton Town 5-1 to put the Premier League title in their hands as they look to make it six titles in seven years. However, their title focus will shift tonight as they look to end Real Madrid's bid for the Champions League following last week's pulsating 3-3 draw in Spain.

City fell behind last week after an own goal by Dias and a strike by Rodrygo despite going ahead in the tie just two minutes in thanks to Bernado Silva. However, Phil Foden and Joško Gvardiol restored City's lead before a 79th minute goal by Valverde ensured the tie would go into the second leg on a knife edge.

The Spanish side know the danger of having to come to the Etihad to win after last season's humiliation at the hands of the Blues. In preparation for tonight's tie, Ancelotti rested Eduardo Camavinga, Dani Carvajal, Toni Kroos, Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo to the bench for a 1-0 win over Mallorca that keeps Madrid at the summit of La Liga, while Jude Bellingham and Luka Modric were also replaced during Saturday's game.
