HERE'S the shock moment ugly scenes followed the televised clash between Dundee Utd and Airdrieonians.
United fans spilled onto the Excelsior Stadium after their heroes got the goalless draw which secured the title - and their promotion back to the top flight.
They had already come onto the Tannadice surface a week previously when the title was all but mathematically secured.
But jubilant fans were back at it last night - with pitch invaders let off flares and scaled the crossbar - and some fans making a bee-line for Airdrie's players and staff.
The BBC panel of host Jonathan Sutherland, former Scotland star Leanne Crichton and former Dundee United star Billy Dodds were left stunned as the punters swarmed around them, with the live stream crashing during the wild scenes.
Some United hooligans then goaded the remaining home fans - who then also entered the field of play and there were ugly scenes as the two groups met on the pitch.
The Tannadice side's triumphant players finally made it onto the field as they celebrated their moment in front of an SPFL hoarding - but the fans had been cleared by that point.
Police Scotland say no arrests have been made - but enquiries are ongoing into the incident.
United, meanwhile, have begun preparing for life in the top flight by appointing Michael Cairney as Head of Recruitment.
The 30-year-old previously had spells as a scout with Twente in Holland and was named League Two Doncaster’s Head of Scouting in 2022.
He moves to Tannadice from a post with London-based investment giants Sport Republic, who currently have an 80 percent stake in Southampton.
He said: "I’m delighted to be joining a club of the size and stature of Dundee United.
“It was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down after discussions with the Chief Executive and the Board.
"It's a really exciting time to be joining - we have a bit of a blank canvas.”
Chief Executive Luigi Capuano added: "Having secured our Premiership status, the club strategy has now shifted to building a squad that can be competitive in the top flight.
“We perceive Michael and the Head of Recruitment position overall to be key in this process.”
