Mauricio Pochettino saw the pressure on his job ramp up even more on Tuesday night following his Chelsea team’s humiliating 5-0 defeat at Arsenal.

The Blues were humbled at the Emirates Stadium. Just a few days after Chelsea were beaten 1-0 at Wembley by Manchester City – in a performance that impressed many, despite the ultimate scoreline and their elimination from the FA Cup at the semi-final stage.

It once again showed one of the biggest flaws in this young Chelsea squad: inconsistency. And that subject was on the lips of Pochettino throughout his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon.

Pochettino was looking ahead to his side’s trip to the Midlands to take on Aston Villa, who are still bidding to qualify for the UEFA Champions League through a top-four finish. The Chelsea head coach has some big decisions to make ahead of the match at Villa Park and below, Bobby Vincent takes a look at what the Argentine might do in terms of his team selection

Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic
Petrovic, despite conceding five goals, made a few top saves in the defeat at Arsenal. Granted, the Serbian should have done a lot better for Leandro Trossard's opener but the goalkeeper was left virtually helpless for the others. He will keep his place in goal.1 of 10
Chelsea defender Axel Disasi
Disasi started in the centre of defence against Arsenal, but he could be used on the right-hand side this time with Alfie Gilchrist dropping out of the team. It is a position Disasi has been used in numerous times this season and with the game perhaps coming too soon for Malo Gusto to start, this is one of Pochettino's only real options.2 of 10
Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah
Many were surprised when Chalobah was left out of the side on Tuesday. Pochettino said it was due to "circumstances", hinting that it was to rest the defender, who missed a large chunk of the season through injury. Chalobah, however, has to return to the side at Villa Park.3 of 10
Ben Chilwell remains sidelined through injury so it looks like Pochettino will call on Cucurella yet again. The Spaniard did okay against Bukayo Saka earlier in the week considering the magnitude of the challenge.4 of 10
