Tottenham Hotspur are surely in the market for at least one striker this summer and Ange Postecoglou will be casting the net far and wide in search of major additions.

Tottenham’s season is really petering out after a frustrating run of results.

A push for Champions League action was on the cards but four defeats in a row have all but kiboshed those hopes.

Defeats to Newcastle United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have seriously dented Tottenham’s top-four aspirations in brutal fashion.

Ange Postecoglou is now under more pressure than ever before as Tottenham boss and he will be looking to arrest this slide quickly.

The end of the season is now in sight and Postecoglou won’t want to go into the summer on a losing run.

It sounds like Tottenham intend to make big changes this summer in order to give Postecoglou what he needs.

Postecoglou has publicly admitted that he will need to churn the squad in order to take Tottenham forward, meaning we can expect major arrivals and potentially some unexpected exits.

Tottenham target Joshua Zirkzee worth more than Dejan Kulusevski

Tottenham will need another striker whether or not Richarlison leaves the club amid ‘serious interest’ from clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Spurs are yet to sign a real centre forward to replace Harry Kane and that simply has to be a priority this summer.

Reports in March suggested that Tottenham were turning towards Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee as a potential target.

Zirkzee has impressed in Serie A this season, racking up 11 goals and four assists in 33 Serie A appearances.

The Dutchman looks destined to make a big move in the near future, whether it’s this summer or further down the line.

A 6ft 4in striker with impressive technical ability, Zirkzee has a huge future ahead of him at just 22 and Tottenham’s interest comes as no surprise.

Italian pundit Antonio Di Gennaro has now told Tuttomercatoweb that he thinks Zirkzee is actually worth much more than Spurs winger Dejan Kulusevski.

Di Gennaro feels that Zirkzee can play for any club in the world and in pretty much any system, praising his ability.

Di Gennaro added that Zirkzee is worth around €60million (£52million), much more than the price Tottenham paid for Kulusevski.

“A player like that can play anywhere, in any team in the world. He can play with another striker, he moves and links up the game. He scores less but scores goals,” said Di Gennaro.

“How much can it be worth? If Kulusevski was bought for 48 million by Tottenham, he is worth at least 60 million. For Italy perhaps there are problems, but for abroad there are none,” he added.

How much did Tottenham really pay for Kulusevski?

We aren’t too sure why the comparison to Kulusevski was made, but we would love to see Zirkzee head to Tottenham.

A physical front man who can also cause havoc on the ball, Zirkzee would make a great number nine under Postecoglou.

The comments do leave us slightly confused though as Kulusevski didn’t cost anywhere near that alleged €48million (£41million).

After spending 18 months on loan at Tottenham, Tottenham struck a ‘reduced’ deal to sign Kulusevski for £25million.

The Swede has blown hot and cold this season but £25million in the modern market isn’t a bad deal for a player of his ability.

Regardless, Di Gennaro clearly feels that Zirkzee is worth much, much more – and Tottenham may yet to be tempted to bring in Zirkzee to play alongside Kulusevski moving forward.
