Tonight sees one of the biggest heavyweight clases European football has to offer with Bayern Munich hosting Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final first leg.

Many UK fans felt this semi-final could be a clash between Premier League title rivals Manchester City and Arsenal, however both Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola's teams could not find a way past the six and 14 time winners respectively. That said, UK football fans will be glued to their screens as the game presents a duel between England's two biggest superstars, Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham.

Bayern edged out Arsenal by a single goal in a 3-2 aggregate win while Madrid beat Manchester City via a penalty shootout at the Etihad after a 1-1 draw there and a 3-3 draw in Madrid. The occasion holds even more significance for the Germans with their manager, former Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel leaving the club at the end of the season but with Bayern through to the last-four for the first time since they won the competition in 2020, he'll be hoping he can bow out on the ultimate high.

Munich will also be hoping to make the final, due to be held at Wembley, with the iconic English ground being the place where they lifted the trophy 11 years ago against Bundesliga rivals, Borussia Dortmund. Madrid though are eyeing a staggering 15th European title this season, and while Munich will be hoping to overcome domestic disappointment after missing out on the Bundesliga crown for the first time in 11 years, overcoming Carlo Ancelotti's resilient Madrid side will be a huge task.
