David Moyes has confirmed that his future as the manager of West Ham will be determined after the season's final game.

The Hammers boss, who celebrated his 61st birthday on Thursday, is yet to commit to a new contract with his current one expiring at the end of this season. Amid certainty over his future, it is understood that owner David Sullivan is weighing up alternatives, having already engaged in preliminary discussions with Sporting Clube de Portugal head coach Ruben Amorim earlier in the week.

Julen Lopetegui, the ex-Wolves manager who is without a club, is also reportedly on West Ham's radar. Nonetheless, Moyes is clear about his intentions, planning to have meeting with the club after the clash with Manchester City on the final day of the season.

He emphasised the importance of mutual agreement, stating: "The most important thing is that things would need to be right between me and the club. And if we get that right then we will see what happens but it will be at the end of the season.

"You can continue to ask me the questions and I'm happy to take them. But it's not as if I've changed track in any way. We've always said it will be made at the end of the season and as far as I'm concerned that will still be the decision.

"That's the way I see it and that's something that me and the board were happy to do."

The recent 5-2 defeat at Crystal Palace, where West Ham found themselves trailing by four goals within the first 30 minutes, has only intensified the scrutiny on Moyes' tenure at the London club.

In his post-game remarks, Moyes expressed his disappointment. "I was ashamed that we were four down after 30 minutes. I didn't like it. I hope I can make sure that doesn't happen in the future but in football you never can tell. We need to defend better generally and that comes from number 1 to 11 on the team."

Moyes is keen to have Jarrod Bowen back against Liverpool on Saturday. He will be crucial to boost their chances of qualifying for Europe.
