Walker has generated unwanted headlines off the field after fathering two children with model and influencer Lauryn Goodman. There are suggestions that Goodman is preparing to head for Germany this summer in order to support England’s bid for continental glory.

Kilner will also be there with her four sons - Roman, 11, Riaan, seven, Reign, five, and newborn Rezon. She is eager to avoid any unnecessary drama with love rival Goodman, while the Football Association want to remove distractions for those charged with delivering on the field.

With that in mind, and with Walker in danger of becoming the centre of attention once again, The Sun claims that Kilner has told a close friend: “Lauryn says she’ll go to Germany and, whilst that’s her right, I don’t understand why she is making it such a public affair. Presumably she will post images of her children wearing England shirts with ‘Daddy’ on the back. It will inevitably create a drama and the noise surrounding it will be an unwelcome distraction for the team. England have the best chance of winning a major trophy since 1966 and they don’t need this. Kyle is focused on what he needs to do on the pitch and that has never wavered — but the gossip off it affects me and the children.”

Kilner is said to want some “breathing space” after discovering in December 2023 that Walker had fathered a second child – a baby girl – with Goodman. Walker has admitted to making “idiot choices”, but is looking to build bridges with “soulmate” Kilner.
