Markham’s Gerwyn Price has moved up a place in the Premier League Darts table after a 6-5 semi-final defeat to Michael Smith in Rotterdam.
Night 12 of the competition, held on Thursday April 18, started with Price condemning Rob Cross to a sixth consecutive quarter-final defeat, averaging 97 and pinning six of his ten attempts at double to complete a 6-3 victory.
What followed was a gruelling encounter against Smith, with the victor punishing a profligate display from the Welshman to progress in a last-leg shoot-out.
Despite the loss, Price moves up into sixth position in the Premier League Darts table as the players head to Liverpool on Thursday April 25. He is due to face teen sensation Luke Littler in the opening match.
The Premier League consists of 16 mini-events held across different cities throughout the season, with each league night comprising quarter-finals, semi-finals and a final over the best of 11 legs.
Points will be awarded each night to form the league table, from which the top four players will progress to the play-offs, which will be held at the O2 in London on Thursday May 23.
