A couple more clubs have reportedly entered the race to sign Kevin De Bruyne from Manchester City this summer.

De Bruyne will soon enter the final year of his current contract at the Etihad Stadium, and that is placing a number of clubs on red alert.

The Belgian maestro is turning 33 in the summer, and there has been some talk about him potentially moving on at the end of this campaign, following an injury-hit season.

De Bruyne has only been able to make 22 appearances this term. However, when he has played, he has been top, scoring six goals and making 16 assists.

Many are hoping De Bruyne will at least see out his contract at City. But for quite a while now, there have been transfer links to Saudi Arabia, with the Pro League hoping to lure big names in the next window. It is thought he and Mo Salah of Liverpool are top targets.

Now, a couple more clubs from the Middle East have registered their interest…

Al-Qadsiah and Al-Ittihad now interested in summer move for Man City star Kevin De Bruyne

De Bruyne has been the best player in the Premier League for around four or five years now.

But there is a feeling now that his levels are dipping slightly, and that the huge amount of games he’s played in his career are catching up with him a little bit.

De Bruyne – dubbed a ‘genius’ recently by Mateo Kovacic – has still mostly shone on the pitch this term for City. But there have also been a few outings where he hasn’t had much of an impact, such as against Arsenal back in March and Liverpool, even though he did get an assist from a corner at Anfield.

One gets the feeling City might just entertain huge offers should they come in, taking into account the player’s agent and contact.

Journalist Rudy Galetti has reported today that De Bruyne has two new clubs on his tail in Al-Qadsiah and Al-Ittihad.

He says on X: “Two new Saudi clubs joined the race for Kevin #DeBruyne: #AlQadisiya and #AlIttihad.

“The position of the Belgian player – whose contract with #ManCity will expire in 2025 – is always the same: he will evaluate any proposals only at the end of the season. #Transfers”

De Bruyne situation will be very interesting this summer

At the start of the season, the vast majority of City fans would have been dead against De Bruyne leaving City this summer.

To be honest, most City fans will probably still feel that way, with £55 million star De Bruyne a legend of the club and still performing at high levels.

But some do believe the club might be ready to cash in if a huge bid comes in. It was recently suggested that an offer of over £100 million with significant bonuses could do the trick.

We have seen how City have fared this season without him and in Phil Foden, the club seem to have a perfect replacement to play in the middle.

There has also been some talk of De Bruyne actually extending his contract at the Etihad, so his situation really will be fascinating.
