Arsenal outcast Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be set for fourth transfer in three years

Former Arsenal and Chelsea forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been back to his best this season at Marseille - but he could decide to move on again in the summer

Former Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could be on the move AGAIN as key players at Marseille anticipate a summer of significant change at the Stade Velodrome.

Aubameyang, 34, has a rich football resume but has struggled to lay down roots since enduring a turbulent end to his career at Arsenal, where he was frozen out by Mikel Arteta and stripped of the club captaincy before leaving in January 2022.

The Gabon international has since made four moves in as many years, including stints at Barcelona and Chelsea before joining Marseille in the summer. And while Aubameyang has looked back to his best in France, plundering 26 goals in all competitions, there is once again speculation over his future.

A new report from L'Equipe has revealed that Marseille are anticipating another busy summer in the transfer market with the future of several key players up in the air.

The likes of Chancel Mbemba, Jonathan Clauss, Jordan Veretout and Ismaila Sarr could all depart if suitable offers are tabled for the services once the transfer window reopens - and that, the report claims, could have a big bearing on Aubameyang's future.

It's alleged that the former Borussia Dortmund star will wait to see what type of 'sporting project' the club has in mind amid these transfer plans before deciding whether or not to remain at Marseille going forward.

Marseille have endured a disappointing Ligue 1 campaign and currently sit 10th in the league standings, although they are in the semi-finals of the Europa League.

Aubameyang has been in fine form since joining Marseille last summer

After joining the French giants in the summer, Aubameyang's father stressed that his son was "relieved" to be making a fresh start after a disastrous season-long spell at Chelsea.

He told L'Equipe in an interview: "His jaw was broken by robbers at his home in Barcelona while trying to protect his wife and children. At Chelsea, he played with a mask at the start. It could only be a nightmare year. Now it’s over. He has a smile.

"He knows that I’m seeing the light again because I can walk and run since my last operation. And he’s signing for [Marseille]. It is a big relief after the nightmare year that he experienced."
