Zinedine Zidane will have to follow a strict car rule if he is to become the new manager of German side Bayern Munich.

The former midfielder has been out of a job since he left Spanish giants Real Madrid for the second time back in 2021.

Since leaving Madrid, the 51-year-old has been linked with a host of different clubs including the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Paris Saint Germain.

Now, as reported by Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, Zidane could be the one replacing Thomas Tuchel at the Bavarian club.

Tuchel will leave Bayern when the 23/24 season comes to a close after they missed out on the Bundesliga title, with Bayer Leverkusen ending their dominance.

If Zidane is to join Bayern as their new manager, he will have to follow a strict car rule at the club.

Bayern and Audi have a long-standing partnership, with the German car manufacturers also owning 8.33 per cent of the club.

As part of their agreement, it is believed that Bayern players and staff are given a company car from Audi in a tradition that's been going on since 2002.

It's expected that squad members drive to and from the club’s training base in their Audi vehicles, as well as matches and other club-related activities.

Bentleys, Bugattis and Porches are acceptable as they are part of the Volkswagen group but current star Kingsley Coman have been guilty of not abiding by the rule.

In March 2021, BILD reported Coman was facing a £43,500 fine after coming to training in his Mercedes.

He was denied entry to the training facility by club staff and was forced to park his car on the street.

After apologising for his mishap, Coman had to sign autographs for Audi employees at their headquarters as a punishment.

The Frenchman said: “I would like to apologise to the club and Audi for not having come to training in my company car.

“The reason was a damaged wing mirror on my Audi. Still, that was a mistake, of course I can see that.”

Coman added: “As a reparation, I will visit the Audi plant in Ingolstadt for an autograph hour as soon as possible and bring some attention to the employees.”
