A reporter very close to David Sullivan has made a new claim about one manager’s West Ham United job offer response.
The West Ham manager’s job appears to be up for grabs this summer, with David Moyes almost certainly set to leave the London Stadium.
Hammers co-owner David Sullivan has apparently whittled down his shortlist of managers who could replace Moyes to just four.
The list supposedly comprises of Julen Lopetegui, Graham Potter, Paulo Fonseca and Sebastian Hoeness.
The most important thing for Sullivan will be to head in a completely different direction to Moyes. West Ham are crying out for a younger, more progressive manager who implements an attacking, exciting brand of football.
There are some managers being linked with us who fit into that category, and some who don’t unfortunately.
Now there has been a big update provided on one of them in particular…
All that seems certain right now is that Moyes will not be the Hammers manager beyond the end of this season.
Quite who will replace the Scot remains to be seen, but one manager in particular has been heavily linked with the London Stadium hot-seat.
And now, a top insider has made an emphatic claim about him…
According to Claret and Hugh, Spanish manager Julen Lopetegui has rejected a move to West Ham, and instead prefers the AC Milan job.
He had apparently received a ‘very rich offer’ from the Hammers.
Hallelujah! The last person I wanted to replace Moyes was Lopetegui. In fact, I would have preferred to stick with the Scot, if the Spaniard was the only alternative option.
The 57-year-old former Sevilla, Spain and Wolves boss is a pragmatic manager in every sense, and the football he implements is very slow and choreographed.
Lopetegui would be a really bad fit for the West Ham job in my opinion. Luckily though, it seems like he won’t be moving to East London anytime soon.
