Former Tottenham Hotspur duo Eric Dier and Harry Kane helped Bayern Munich knock Arsenal out of the Champions League last night.

Harry Kane netted in the first leg at the Emirates Stadium and Bayern finished the job off in Munich.

Kane and Eric Dier started in both games against their former rivals, with the latter impressing in the 1-0 win at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday evening.

Dier even aimed a cheeky dig at Arsenal after the game, admitting it was ‘nice’ to knock out Tottenham’s bitter rivals.

Bayern will now face a semi-final clash against Real Madrid, with Kane and Dier looking to go one better after missing out on the Champions League title at Spurs back in 2019.

Dier’s impressive stats vs Arsenal

Dier was out of favour under Ange Postecoglou and not many would have expected the Englishman to nail down a place in Bayern’s side.

The 30-year-old was named as the Player of the Match following a commanding display against our rivals last night.

Here’s a closer look at Dier’s display based on the statistics from Sofascore

It’s brilliant to see Dier settling in well at Bayern after a difficult couple of years towards the end of his nine-year spell at Tottenham.

There’s no doubt that it was the right time for the defender to leave Hotspur Way and he seems to have found a side well-suited to his qualities.

He’s effectively playing for his future in Munich after signing on a short-term loan deal and you’d have to say on current form, he’s earning a permanent move to Bayern.
