Arsenal set for major transfer cash injection with genius Mikel Arteta title winning trick

Arsenal could end the 2023/24 season without anything to show for their progress under Mikel Arteta after a difficult week for the Gunners. After losing ground to Manchester City in the Premier League title race last weekend, the north Londoners' dream of winning the Champions League ended at Bayern Munich.

The league title is now out of their hands, with City the favourites to defend their status as champions of England. While focus remains on the final six games of the season, work will be underway as the transfer window approaches.

Whatever happens between now and May 19, Arsenal are expected to back Arteta. Recent reports suggest a new striker and winger are likely to be prioritised ahead of the 2024/25 campaign. Last season, over £250million was spent to bring in four new recruits, with the sales of Granit Xhaka, Folarin Balogun and Matt Turner helping with balancing the books.

This window is likely to follow a similar pattern. Amid ongoing concerns over Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), staying in line with financial regulations will be important to avoid any breaches next year.

12 months on from last summer, Arsenal do have a number of sellable assets to cash-in on. Selling players who are either surplus to requirements or entering the final year of the current contract is incredibly likely to happen this summer.

Goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is more or less certain to put an end to his three-year stay at the Emirates Stadium. The arrival of David Raya has seen the England international settle for second choice, meaning a move is probable.

Newcastle and Chelsea have both been credited with interest in the past. According to transfermarkt.com, the goalkeeper is valued at €25million (£21.4m) but with two years on his deal, the Gunners are in a good position to negotiate a better package.

Another player whose contract with the club isn't due to expire until 2026 is Emile Smith Rowe. Having emerged through the Hale End academy, the playmaker has struggled for minutes due to injury and selection.

Chelsea showed interest in the 23-year-old last summer before signing Cole Palmer. At such a young age, Smith Rowe could still live up to his potential at another club. Like Ramsdale, he's valued at €25million (£21.4m).

Fellow academy graduates Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah are also likely to be linked with an exit. Both have failed to become regulars in Arteta's team this season, and their exits could bring in just under £40million - based on transfermarkt.com's valuation.

The Gunners have got many of their transfer deals right in recent years, but Fabio Vieira's move from Porto hasn't worked. In two seasons, the Portuguese star has appeared just 49 times in total - with the majority of them coming off the bench.

Valued at £21.4m, Vieira could tempt offers from Europe, with the Gunners potentially looking for another attack-minded midfielder with his exit.

Finally, the last name Arsenal could look to sell this summer is Thomas Partey. Constant injuries have set his season back to square one, but with just one year remaining on his deal, cashing-in on the Ghana international may be their best shot at receiving any of the £45million they spent to sign him in 2020.

Transfermarkt.com values the former Atletico Madrid star at €20million (£17.1m) meaning there's a chance the Gunners could raise a whopping £121million in player sales that could be used towards Edu Gaspar's summer transfer plans.
