Lauryn Goodman is determined to take Kyle Walker's two children to the European Championships this summer - but his wife Annie does not want her to attend

Kyle Walker's wife Annie Kilner has told Lauryn Goodman to avoid attending Euro 2024 this summer over fears that she could cause unneeded distractions.

Walker is set to head to the tournament with England as they bid to win their first major championship since 1966, three years since the Three Lions lost in the final against Italy. The Manchester City defender has been capped 82 times and featured in all but one of their Euro qualifying matches.

The FA are desperate to avoid any unnecessary setbacks in Germany and Annie, 30, is concerned that Walker's love life could impact the Three Lions' hopes of winning the European Championships. According to The Sun, Annie does not want his former wife Lauryn to attend.

Lauryn, who has two children with Walker, is determined to take his kids to the tournament. Annie will also be there, with their four sons Roman, 11, Riaan, seven, Reign, five, and newborn Rezon.

She told a friend, via The Sun: "Lauryn says she'll go to Germany and, whilst that's her right, I don't understand why she is making it such a public affair. Presumably she will post images of her children wearing England shirts with 'Daddy' on the back.

"It will inevitably create a drama and the noise surrounding it will be an unwelcome distraction for the team. England has the best chance of winning a major trophy since 1966 and they don’t need this. Kyle is focused on what he needs to do on the pitch and that has never wavered - but the gossip off it affects me and the children."

Walker's wife is also worried about the impact the latest development is going to have on her children. She told the friend: "We all need some breathing space. The spotlight feels relentless. I'm trying to draw a line under everything that has happened and do my best for my children."

Annie was left stunned in December after Walker confessed to fathering a second child with Lauryn. Speaking in an interview with The Sun earlier this year, Walker, 33, said: "I am a private man but I accept that I am a public figure and I need to address what I’ve done.

"It hasn’t helped that it has been played out in the media. But I’ve chosen to speak now in the hope that I can at least explain myself and enable my wife and children to have the privacy they so desperately need and deserve."
